The Great Calendar stone of the Aztecs was commissioned to describe the current fourth age of this world, as the Aztecs believed we are into this day and predicted to end with the face of the fifth Sun, named earthquake, symbolized by two plates (tectonic) rubbing together. The God's face contains the characteristics of Tonatiuh (the Sun God) with a tongue made of flint, the symbol which indicated cutting and sparks and resembles the death that can come by either.

I made this piece with the artists, Steven Chapman and Joaquin Alexandro Guzmanand. It is painted by staining a prepared surface of plaster with pigments and water.

I’m not here as a businessman, but an artist sharing his culture and gift with the world.
